Maybelline Dream Velvet Product Review

Thursday, June 29, 2017

So I was shopping at target, WHAT'S NEW?And I came across this Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation. I first I thought it was a BB Cream. It definitely has the same consistency. I've been using this foundation daily for the past month, especially for work and I'm in love. I get so many compliments on how smooth my skin looks. Of course I did start a new skin care routine (which I will be sharing later) but this foundation really has made a difference. I mean who doesn't love affordable drug store products, that work, am I right?.

Packaging
The packaging is very simple The product comes in a squeeze bottle, perfect size for traveling or taking with you on the go. It has a twist top which I like because I'm not a fan of flip caps, they tend to break and leak easily in my opinion.

Application
The application is smooth and creamy. I live for products that are easy to put on and blend and gives a nice smooth finish. I usually use a firm stipple brush to apply. I've even used my fingers and I glides on seamlessly. I follow up with rose water because it sets my foundation and keeps my skin hydrated, or use my Maybelline Powder.

Color Selection
They had so many different shades. From very fair to darker skin tones. I ended up getting the number 95 Coconut and it matches my skin perfectly!(which is very rare I might add)

Overall, This has been one of my favorite drug store foundations. I've been using it over a month now and no break outs and It keeps my skin smooth and radiant all day. Let me know if you've tried this foundation and how it works for you.

Here are a few pictures of me with the foundation on

Refreshing Watermelon Drink

Saturday, June 24, 2017

Hey!

Who doesn't love watermelon, I know I do! It's perfect for summer and a family BBQ. Which, there will definitely be a lot of this summer. Its super easy to make and you'll definitely be hooked. Blending watermelon into the perfect drink makes it even better.

Watermelon Drink

Ingredients

Watermelon (Seeded or Seedless)
Sugar
Ice
Lemon
Honey

I start by cutting my watermelon into cubes and adding ice

Then I blend until slightly smooth. Then I add some sugar (You can put however much to you liking) This is also when I add my lemon. Then i blend again until all smooth.

*If you don't like small seeds I suggest straining the watermelon juice separate. I don't mind it so, I left it in.

Honey Sugar Coated Glasses

Tip the rim of the glass into a plate or bowl of honey, next dip it into a plate or bowl of sugar. Your end result will be this delicious, sugar coated glass. The honey add a great taste to the drink.

Next Pour it up, add your sliced lemon and Enjoy!!

My Top 6 Flavored Water Recipes

Tuesday, June 20, 2017

It's summer time and this heat is not going anywhere. Can you believe we reached over 120 degrees this week in Arizona! Talk about being hot and sweaty. Living in Arizona my whole life, I've always loved water. I especially love a good flavored water, one that I've made myself and I know whats in it. Today I'm sharing my top 6 favorite flavored water recipes. I hope you enjoy and try them yourself.

I always start with prepping my fruit and making sure I triple wash it. For the fruit with a thick skin (oranges, limes etc) I use a little scrub brush to make sure its really clean. I mean this is going into our water right.

I also poke small holes into my fruit to help the infusion process( I hope that's a word) lol

My Flavored Waters

1. Strawberry and Mint
2.Cucumber Lemon
3.Orange Lime
4. Strawberry Orange
5.Cucumber Strawberry
6. Mint Lemon

I fill my mason jars with ice then I add the fruit. You can also use any cup or jar or water container. After I add water and close it up.
Allow your water to sit for 30minutes to an hour to let those wonderful flavors really infuse.

You'll be left with these delicious waters, that taste amazing and perfect for summer!
P.S. The strawberries may tint your water a little

Desk Organization {Sneak Peek}

Thursday, June 15, 2017

Hey Friends!

Today I'm sharing with you a little sneak peek into my office drawer organization. I am in love with office supplies and I can stay in a store looking at them for hours, honest. I'm really liking the way my drawers are set up. Its taken me some time to really know what things I want to place together which is why I'm only doing a little sneak peek. When I have it completely to my liking then I definitely will be showing you guys more. By that time I may have changed a few more things FYI

Let's start with my top drawer. This is where I keep all of my extra pens and pencils and highlighters. Its great because they are in easy access and, let me just say ,I love how vibrant and colorful this drawer looks. I also have some random bits (thumb tacks, rubber bands and safety pins) That mini doughnut is actually a book marker!

My second drawer is my note taking drawer/stickers and labels. I use a lot of sticky notes, I'm a visual person so I always have to leave myself notes or I use them to jot down ideas really quickly. These emoji stickers I just thought were so cute and I had to have them. I currently haven't used them yet, but I will sooner than later. I also keep my pencil sharper in this drawer as well as my double sided tape that I use sometimes when I label something. This white organizing set is from Big Lots. You can mix and match them and create them however you want.

Lets move on to drawer number 3. Probably my favorite drawer because of how organized it is. Everything has its own place and it just looks so seamless and I'm loving it!!! Even though its lacking some color. This Acrylic Desk Drawer Organizer is from The Container Store. They have some of the best office storage ever! This drawer is where I keep all of my "real office supplies" (extra staples, paper clips, larger clips, erasers and my mechanical pencil refills.) I also have 2 large notepads that wouldn't fit in my last drawer so I kept them in here.

The last drawer I'm going to share with you is my "small paper drawer", I guess we can call it. This drawer is still coming together but Its functional right now. It definitely has no theme. This is just what goes together in my head. I have envelopes, note cards, extra sticky notes, stapler refills and my picture photo paper. I also got this Photo Paper Holder from The Container Store.

DIY Sparkling Glitter Box

Wednesday, June 7, 2017

I have such an obsession/ love for decorative boxes. I use them all the time to keep organized. The decorative box section is always first on my list when I go shopping. I always see some of the most adorable ones in the stores, so I thought why not DIY my own. I love glitter! I know for some people it drives them crazy, not me, I love it. It reminds me of such a happy sparkly place.

What You Need:
Elmer's Spray Adhesive
Glitter
Plain Box

The Elmer's Spray Adhesive, is a really good spray adhesive, I've used this for other fun projects in the past and its definitely a good one.

Of course you can't make a Glitter Box without Glitter. I purchased this huge pack from target. I loved it because of all the colors it had, and PLUS the bottles are glass, so totally {reusable!!!}

I purchased this plain white photo box from Joann's Fabrics.

 Lets Get Started...
1. Make sure you cover your surface, you don't want glue everywhere!!
2. Spray a thin layer of Elmer's Spray Adhesive on the top portion of the box lid
*You may want to wear gloves, I didn't and lets just say my hands were filled with glitter. #lessonlearned

3. Gently and lightly sprinkles the glitter on top (make sure you don't pile on to much glitter at a time, it will create clumps, trust me)

Don't forget to spray and glitter the edges as well

4. I let the first layer dry for about 30minutes to an hour, I like to make sure the glue is really dry and set. Then if you want a more dramatic look you can add a second layer of glitter.

5. I spray the finished look with the Elmer's Adhesive Spray to set in all the glitter, and let this dry for an hour or longer.
*Be sure to shake of any extra glitter to prevent clumping.

When your finished your left with this beautiful sparkling glitter box!!

Hope you enjoyed this DIY

Until Next Time XOXO

Beauty

Maybelline Colossal Big Shot Mascara
I have to have mascara even if I'm not wearing any any makeup. A good mascara is definitely my staple. My Favorite mascara is the Maybelline Big Shot Mascara. I gives my eyes that bold look, and really wakes me face up. If you like a more dramatic eye lash you'll love this one and it totally affordable.

Maybelline Lip Shine
I love a good lip gloss but this Maybelline Lip Shine leaves my lips shiny for so long and it keeps them moisturized believe it or not. Definitely my favorite, It goes everywhere with me

Maybelline Fit Me Powder
I guess you can say I'm loving Maybelline products right now. This powder is affordable and works. It gives my skin a smooth finish. I take this with me to work and I'm currently loving it.

Nivea
I prefer coconut oil or sweet almond oil over lotion, but my favorite lotion that I've been using for a while now is this Nivea Essentially Enriched one. It leaves me so moisturized and gives my skin a radiant glow. This is the only lotion I use and It is amazing!! I also love how thick it is. I buy the dry to very dry skin.
I also use the Nivea Cream for my feet as a nightly moisturizer.

At The Beach Body Spray and Lotion
I got these when bath and body works was having a sale, and I got them for only 7.00$ dollars. On top of that they smell sweet and perfect for summer and the beach. Hence the name At the beach.

Music

Sampha

I heard Sampha a few times on other artist albums as a feat, (Solange, Drake etc,) before I actually listened to his album titled "Process". And he is so incredibly talented. He plays the piano and his beats and harmonies and lyrics are amazing. I absolutely love his music and I play his album on repeat on my way to work everyday hahaa P.S My favorite song is INCOMPLETE KISSES and PLASTIC 100

Entertainment

The Show Power

Okay so, I am not a TV person, AT ALL. But of course my mother, of all people tells me about this show. and I watched one episode and I was hooked. Its definitely an adult show for mature audiences but it has so much suspense I have to see what happens in the next season. And the leading actor, he does an amazing Job and he is incredibly good looking!
