Turning 26 | I'm Not Sure What I Want In Life

Tuesday, July 31, 2018

This is the first time in my life that I can honestly say I don't know what I want. I am always the type of person to write down all of my goals and over time acomplish them. That's my motto, set a goal and achieve it. When I decided to get braces, when I decided I wanted a certain career with a certain job title. Those are all things I had planned for so long.

Usually around my birthday I have a lit of goals I'm working on and I don't have one. It seems like I'm just stuck. I'm not exactly set on what I want in life. It's crazy to think I'm turning 26, to some that might not be a big deal, but to me it is.

I am very happy and excited for my birthday but not like years in the past. This just feels different like another day is going to happen. Is that how it feels when you get older. I hope not because this is just such a weird thing for me.

I've tried multiple times of reading different books and trying to sit down and create a goal list but nothing comes to mind. I may think of a few and then 5 minutes later throw the paper out.

So with all that being said. I don't know what I want in life right now. There's nothing that is making  me excited or happy. On top of all of that, I don't know what I want to do about blogging.

Blogging to me was always a fun hobby I did on the weekends. Finding fun reciepes and doing simple lifestyle post made me so happy and fulfilled. But as of now I'm just not satisfied with my content or blogging in general. I love it don't get me wrong. I just don't know what to write about or what people are interested in and It's just a constant battle with what do I want to do.

If anyone is going through the same thing, maybe you have some tips on feeling revived again. For now I will just be taking a break and trying to figure out what it is that I want. Then maybe that will get some creative juices flowing.

How To Store Shoes In Your Closet | DIY Ikea Shelf

Sunday, July 29, 2018

Surprisingly I've never been the one to put my shoes on dispay. They were always at the bottom of my closet wither on a small shelf or in shoe bins. After displaying then and sorting through the shoes I wear and don't wear, I'm really glad I can open my closet and see them all in my face.

This makes getting dressed faster and It lets me know what shoes I have. Now if I decide to go shopping I know what shoes I want and may need. I even have two pairs of shoes I have yet to wear, because I bought them and put them in a shoe box.

I decided to spray paint this ikea shelf with a matte black spray paint. It originally comes in silver.

My Love/Hate Relationship With Technology

Friday, July 27, 2018

I was recently asked the question will I be upgrading my phone. And my first response was NO! before I could even think about it the answer was no. That question had me thinking of all the reasons I love technology and also why I hate it.  I use my IPhone for normal everyday phone use. Work calls, personal call (Mostly texts because I'm not a fan of phone conversations) Social media and emails.

I have a love/ hate relationship with technology because I know of all the good it does and how convenient it is. I can transfer money between accounts on bank apps. I can quickly respond to emails and have 24/7 access to people, friends etc. Social media in itself can be full time job for some people. Technology has come so far and has advanced so much, it's hard not to love it and be around it all the time. It has become a permanent part in our lives. Checking your phone when you wake up before checking on your family is a normal in our society. And I'm not counting myself out of it. Just and observation.

But on the opposite side It is so impersonal. I just notice the lack of real life communication because of technology. Everything is so online based and we have access to peoples personal lives 24/7 and I don't think that's healthy.

A personal life should be just that personal. If you choose to have a blog and share parts of your home, life, etc then that's Great! I'm all for it, but seeing all the gossip blogs and just junk is just ridiculous.

I love social media and all the wonders of technology but I do miss the personal relationships and skills that were developed without it.

Mini Staycation At Towne Place Suites Hotels by Marriot | Room Tour

Sunday, July 22, 2018

I have never stayed at a Towne Place Suites By Marriot,  so I was very unsure of what I was going to see. I saw the pictures online but I still wasn't convinced.

But I' curious and I love new hotels I've never tried. I book all my rooms either through Expedia or hotels.com.  But lets get to the room tour shall we.

KITCHEN

When you first walk in you are in the kitchen and closet space. I liked how the kitchen was well lit and it was a complete kitchen with pots and pans and dishes. I even made vegetarian tacos while I was here.

CLOSET

I loved organizing products and one of my favorite stores is the container store. The closet was a complete Elfa closet unit and was so organized I just fell in love.

LIVING AND SLEEPING

A  large comfy bed always makes the best sleep. One of the best features was the TV had netflix and hulu. Which means your not stuck with boring cable shows you don't watch. I literally sat an binge watched my new favorite show Marlon. Have you seen it?
The vaulted ceilings made the space seem so much larger.

BATHROOM

Last but not least the bathroom! I love a large shower and bright lights.

Surviving The Blazing Summer | Arizona Summer Guide

Tuesday, July 10, 2018

Summer time is here and ready to stay. Summers in Arizona can be harsh, with the dry air the the constant beaming sun and lets not forget the 100+ degree weather. I've lived in Arizona my entire life so I'm use to preparing for the summer. I actually remember buying summer clothes and flip flops and pool supplies and being just super excited as a child when summer came around. Summer meant no school and swimming all day, but as an adult there's so many things you have to prepare for yourself. So here's a guide to surviving summer! Hope you enjoy

Everyday Tips

_________________________________________________________________________________

Overcast Days Are Still Hot
Sometime we think that because the clouds are over the city, that means you can walk around bare foot and just relax outside. Wrong! The heat in Arizona is so hot that even on a cloudy day you can still get blisters and burn your feet. If the sun was 115 one day and overcast the next, the ground is still hot so be careful.

Wear Breathable Clothing
Cotton and breathable clothing can help with not overheating in the summer. Summer dresses and light linen cloths are comfortable and prefect for the summer. I've been in the dress mood lately and they are

Stainless Steel Water Bottle w/ Ice
Water is an essential part of living but definitely an essential part of the summer. Drink as much water as you can, your body will love you for it. I like using a stainless steel water bottle and adding ice t help it stay colder long and I can always add more water and the ice will still be there. So drink up! Takeya Stainless Steel Water Bottle

 Baby Wipes
On those long days when your out and shopping, or at the park. Baby wipes help give your skin a refresh after you have been sweating all day. I don't like feeling sticky after I sweat so keeping a good bag of baby wipes keeps you clean and refreshed.

 A Fan (Big Or Small)
Fans in a hot place like Arizona are much needed, whether they are a small desk fan or a large ceiling fan. They even have little phone fans that attached to your iphone, how cool is that! I can bring this little fan with me everywhere.
Mini Fans For Your Phone

P46 Digital Mini Fan 2-in-1 Mini for iPhone/iPad and Android - Pink/Blue/Green - 3 Piece

Protect those sweat stains with a Panty Liner
If your prone to sweat stains under your arm pits, opt for placing a panty liner in your arm pits with the cotton side facing your arm pit to soak up the sweat and they sticky side on your shirt. This will help eliminate those embarrassing sweat stains that always happen. Especially when you love and  wear gray.

Water Proof Mascara
No one likes running mascara or if your start sweating and wipe your face you mascara starts to smear. A good water proof mascara give you the pretty awake eyelashes you want without the running black makeup

Cold Rose Water Spray
I like to place all natural rose water in the fridge and use it on my face before I leave the house. Its refreshing and also good for your skin. You can use it in a spray bottle or just a regular face pad. I prefer using a small spray bottle.

Places To Visit

Hotels/ Resort Stays
Having a mini stay cation is always fun and super affordable here in the summer. You can find great deals on expedia or hotels.com if your looking to have a relaxing day at spa or just in a nice resort with room service. On the plus side most of them have pools

Sedona
The perfect place to go to get away from the big city and spend some time with nature and red rocks, how cool is that, red rocks. I've lived in Arizona my entire life and I'm always so amazed by it.

Canon Lake
Going on a lake trip is fun! You can go swimming, boating, jet skiing. The most important part is spending time with your family and eating.

Arizona Museum Of Natural History
Any museum is a great summer idea. It's both educational and it has A/C. Some much history to catch up on so get started.

Scottsdale Fashion Square
Just want a simple place to escape the heat, find a mall and explore the shops. Scottsdale Fashion Square has many different shops to explore while still staying cool and great eating too.

Your local coffee shop
I don't know about you but I'm so in love with coffee. Iced coffee in the summer is just perfect. If you like energy drinks dutch bros coffee has some amazing varieties of flavors

5 Quick Tips To Help You Stay Organized

Monday, July 9, 2018

Hey Everyone!  I just wanted to come and share a few quick tips with you on organizing your life. Sometimes making that first initial step to a Better you is difficult and hard to stick to but practice makes perfect. Right? So keep going at it and organizing will be as simple as opening a bag of chips....yummy Funyuns! Anyways here's a few quick tips.

TIP 1

1. Make sure you have a place for your stuff at home. Whether it's a basket or drawer just have a designated place. Shoes need a shelf or a small cubbies. Or nicely lined up on the floor is great also.

TIP 2

2. Whenever you are thinking of putting something in the wrong place. STOP! And make the effort in putting it back where it goes. It saves you time and a mess for later on. Always think to yourself, I'm going to feel much better entering back into a room the way I left it, clean and organized!

TIP 3

3. Never go to sleep with clothes, shoes, paper etc. laying around. Do a quick pick up at night so when you wake up you will feel refreshed and not stressed. If you have stairs leave a basket at the bottom of the stairs for items that need to go upstairs and incorporate that into your night time routine.

TIP 4

4. Make a to do list and FOLLOW it, trust me they help. It can be simple like . Clean up dog poo. Wash the dishes. Sweep, take out trash. Just write down what you have to do and check it off as you complete it. I'll be doing a more detailed blog post about a to do list so stay in touch for that.

TIP 5

5. Last but not least. Just know that being organized leads to a more productive and stressed free day.

I definitely have a lot more things coming and in the works. That I'm really excited for. Yay! I hope these few tips help you out.

Natural Refreshing Pillow Mist DIY

Saturday, July 7, 2018

A good nights sleep or even a nap is the best feeling ever! I like to clean my sheets and pillowcases weekly but I always like them to smell good. Instead of buying an expensive pillow mist I made a DIY one with a few natural ingredients.

Now for me essential oils are my can't live without product for anything natural. Pure essential oils are a much better alternative than synthetic fragrances that your not sure whats in them.

There are so many oils to choose from. My favorites at the moment are Lavender and Ylang Ylang. I've always been using lemongrass and grapefruit. My room pretty much smelt like a fresh fruit market for a while.

Are you Having Trouble With Consistency | Writers Block

Friday, July 6, 2018

The internet world moves so fast sometimes you have to stay on the ball. Being a Blogger and being consistent is important, but for me creating quality content is what I love to do. I hate posting a organization post if I feel its doesn't work 100 percent for me. Whatever I put out I want to love reading it and love going back to it years later.

_________________________________________________________________________________

Maybe that's a problem, idk. I follow so many blogs and I'm always like geez (how do they post so much content). Maybe if I was blogging every single day I definitely could but I just have to get in the flow of things.

I just never want blogging to feel like a chore. I like when my ideas come naturally and I can sit on the computer and write for however long and think of creative pictures to take. That brings me more joy and happiness when I blog.

I'm still working on my blog post about why I started blogging, because when I started It was during a rough period in my life. It was my humble little nest where I could write and be creative.

Sometimes I feel the pressures to upload twice a day and be active and social 24/7. But in reality I miss and love the creative and truthful side to blogging. It was nice to sit down and read someones entire blog post that you know they put there heart into.

And well that's what I wanna do and be. Myself and creative. Consistent, YES! So the goal is to stay consistent, but stay myself and creative and make sure very post I create is one that I love and one that I would love to read.

Just some thoughts, hopefully this helps you and understand your not alone

Enjoy The rest of your week!
