Road Trip Anyone? | Road Trip Esssentials | Sedona

Saturday, October 13, 2018

Sedona is one of my favorite places to go to in Arizona. The beautiful red and orange colors and mountains and trees and just about everything about it, I LOVE.

Recently I took a mini road trip to sedona. (but lets be honest I go at least once every few months) So I wanted to share with you all how I do a mini road trip and some of the things I bring along. I would say always bring a change of clothes, even for a day trip because you never know. Also a sweater and a change of shoes as well.

On any car ride a solid play list is the best. This time around I just went for the play list that apple music provided and let me tell you they have some good ones. Just type in the genre of music and listen to the play list. You can also create your own play list on other music platforms like spotify.

Water is probably one of the best things to have on a road trip. It's horrible being thirsty and not having anything to drink and having to wait until you find a gas station. so stocking up on water is ESSENTIAL. (pun intended) Just remember the more you drink the more you may need to stop and go to the bathroom.

Snacks on road trips are one of the best parts besides looking at all the beautiful land. I like having a variety or just a few snacks depending on how long the trip is and how hungry I am. This trip I ate before we left so I wasn't very hungry. A few snacks were good for me. Getting non perishable snacks are easy to travel with and can go with you just about anywhere.

Here's a list of a few of my favorites.

PRETZELS
CLIFF BARS
BANANAS
PEARS
PEACHES
CRACKERS
CHOCOLATE COVERED RAISINS
GRANOLA BARS
HOMEMADE KOSHER RICE KRISPIES
HERSHEY'S CHOCOLATE

(anything that wont be to hard to manage on a car ride)

Simple Fall Decor For Your Bedroom | Office

Friday, September 28, 2018

Hello Everyone! Welcome to style me bright blog. If this is your first time reading one of my blog posts, Welcome! I'm glad you hear and lets just be friends!

Can you believe it’s already fall? The time this year has just been flying by and I'm not complaining. The fall season is one of the best seasons, but honestly, I can’t pick a favorite. The fall and winter in Arizona, is always beautiful. When this time of year comes around, I know we are all excited. We start ordering pumpkin spice lattes, we buy the cinnamon scented pinecones, fall just gives us an all-around cozy vibe.

Today I wanted to show you all a few simple and easy ways to make your room a little more fall appropriate. On a small budget. I know some of us don’t have huge homes or tons of space. A lot of people have small apartments or they have roommates. so, this is the perfect option for someone who doesn’t want to go all out for fall but also has a small space.

Random Tip:

Focusing on the spaces in your home or office that you gravitate towards more, will make it easier when decorating your space. I tend to spend a lot of time in my office/ desk area. That is why I chose this space to decorate. Find the area in your space you like the most and decorate it.

ADDING A GARLAND

Adding a simple garland on your shelf or dresser, is one way to add that fall season into your space. It’s pretty and bright and just screams FALL IS HERE! Its also very long and adds color to a empty space. Picking a garland that has more leaves and is fuller will look the best. The brighter the better! but there are also more neutral options as well. This garland was on sale at Michaels.

USING THINGS AROUND YOUR HOME

I already had this small wooden box that was just sitting around, so I added that. Wood can really warm up a look and add texture. I already had the green faux plant as well as the picture frame.

PICTURES

Google has some great images for fall inspired pictures as well as Pinterest. You can incorporate fall into any room or space just by changing out the pictures to be more fall. Some examples could be leaves, fall sayings, or camping. I liked having my simple pictures in the back and just adding a slash of fall pictures, but you can do what works for you.

The frames I purchased at micheals and then printed the pictures to add to them.

Random Tip:

Make sure when you print pictures to use glossy photo paper, that way the images look professional and neat.

FLOWERS

I love real flowers, they are just gorgeous and smell amazing. You can add real flowers and faux flowers, both look amazing and add a nice contrast to your space.

THE LITTLE THINGS

The small pumpkins or fall scented candles can tie a space together nicely! Even adding a wood tray to put everything on adds texture and looks great.

I love my little small space with a few fall décor. I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know what you decided to do in your space for fall.

Until Next Time

XOXO

My Everyday Basic Makeup Favorites

Friday, September 21, 2018

Yay! Hello There, Welcome back to the blog. Todays post is all about my everyday basic makeup that I have been using and loving. If I could be a makeup guru, and be good at it for one day, I probably would! I love and can spend time on Youtube watching girls do makeup but when It comes to me personally, I’m just am not interested.

Fun fact I started wearing makeup in like Highschool when one of my friends wore it and told me I should (laughs) I loved wearing it, I thought I was just so cool. Let me know when did you start wearing makeup? Also, do most girls start in Highschool or was I late? Okay back to the post.

When I go out, or to work or any event. I want to have the most minimal makeup on. Not because I don’t like makeup, but mostly because I don’t want to deal with the maintenance.  I don’t want to have to constantly check my face or apply anything, unless its lip moisturizer! I want to enjoy whatever it is that I’m doing.  I have a few products that I use all the time and they work Great!

Something For The Face

The first everyday product I use is this MAYBELLINE Matte + Poreless Fit Me Powder! When I’m talking about everyday makeup, I don’t want to use any creams or foundations. They can all be so heavy and I just want something that gives me a light coat and still looks natural. Not all powders work well, ive tried a few. But this particular one goes on smooth and adds a nice finish.
I like to apply a little of this using a medium buffing brush. It gives me the perfect amount of coverage and doesn’t leave me oily or dry. It adds a nice, natural fresh look. I use the color 360 Mocha. Always remember the key to having a great application of just powder is having healthy skin underneath, and exfoliating to get rid of dead skin.

Something For The Eyes

The next product is also a MAYBELLINE product. The Big Shot Mascara. Makeup Shayla on youtube actually put me on to this mascara. I actually watched her use it in a tutorial and thought to myself, I want to try that.
Having long eyelashes really helps me look awake in the mornings on my way to work and just looks so pretty. I love long eyelashes. But I wouldn’t dare get extensions (that just scares me). This mascara does a great job adding volume and length to my lashes. I feel so naked and not awake if I don’t have it on. Let me know if you are the same.

Something For The Eyebrows

I then move on to my eyebrows! I’m not to obsessed with my eyebrows, if they are defined and NOT super thin. I’m fine! I love thick eyebrows but I want them to look and feel as natural as possible and I would be fine without shading them in, but the darkness adds a nice contrast to my face.
This small eyebrow pencil brush from NYX Is easy to apply and Inexpensive. I use the brush on the back to comb through my brows and then slightly fill in my brows. It adds a nice definition to my face and I love dark eyebrows.

Something For The Lips

Having moisturized lips is the most important part! I cannot stand dry lips, that just looks painful and not good. Sometimes you can go out with a little rose water spray on your face and a hydrated lip and look somewhat put together. but having dry lips, no no no haha.
For my lips I like using a few things, whatever I have on hand to be honest but all of them work. I really enjoy the chap stick brand (cherry yumm) Its super east to grab and put on. You can even carry it in your pocket its so small and convenient and does the trick.
I also use EOS lip balm, the MAYBELLINE shine shot lip gloss is nice also. I recently tried this new lip water balm that came in my ipsy glam bag and its called “bkr paris’. It works so well! I just need to order a full size bottle, but it does wonders.

These are pretty much the only things I use on an everyday basis. Like I said before I don’t like doing much but I do like looking put together and nice. The most important part of makeup is your actual skin and how well you take care of it.
Definitely adding and enhancing the already beautiful parts of your face can add so much and makes you look awake, even if your not.

Falling Back In Love With Your Passion!

Monday, September 17, 2018

I think we all have ended up in a place where we don’t know what to do or what’s next for us. It may be a hobby, a relationship, a job, anything. You can love something and if you’re not tentative you can fall out of love with it.

I've always enjoyed writing, I love English class and always passed with A's. I wanted to be a journalist for the longest time and slowly over time I started to lose the spark of wanting to write.
I wasn’t interested, and I just didn’t like it and I started to get worried because this is something that I’ve always enjoyed and loved, and it was slipping away.

so, I took a break a few times ha-ha and after looking at old blog post and thinking of the reason why I started a blog in the first place, this inspiration came. and I wanted to write again, and I wanted to share things again and it started to feel natural.
That’s what I wanted! I wanted to love blogging because it is my hobby. I do it because I like sharing things with everyone and in person I’m much more of an introvert but when I’m sharing things with you all I’m an extrovert and I just love it.

Whenever your passion or love becomes a chore or a demand it becomes not fun anymore. you start to lose the reason you did it in the first place. so never let go of that. Never treat your passion like a job as the saying goes. (or something like that lol)

And if you are in a rut just know, it won’t be forever. eventually you will love what you do again. it just takes time. I mean when you stop working on something you must remember the skill all over again.

A Simple Ikea Hack | Mid Century Modern Kallax

Wednesday, August 29, 2018

I AM beyond excited at how this little DIY came out. I am currently in the process of creating the style I want in my space. Ive been pinning on pinterest like crazy trying to create the right inspiration. I love the mid century modern look. Its clean, simple, but also so much flare and excitement. This simple little DIY took maybe 15 minutes and adds a whole new look to my space.

FURNITURE LEGS

I found the small furniture legs on amazon of course. And I got a great deal on them because I had so many amazon rewards points. [see those things really do come in handy] I will link where I got these below. They had many ariations of mid century modern table legs. I just went for a more neutral wood tone but they also have a dark wood tone as well.

THE INSTALL

Start by attaching the metal square anchors into the shelf. Next you will be able to screw on the legs. Super simple and easy to install. When I first got these I thought oh no the screw attacheted to the leg was to long, but no worries. The more you keep srewing the leg in the screw actually gets shorter because it just screws back into the leg.

I'm going for a mid century modern meets palm springs meets Arizona feel in my space. If you follow me on instagram you may have seen my mood board in a recent picture.  I found these really awesome cactus prints online just by googling "cactus palm springs free picture" They're great quality and they printed so smooth and glossy.

Everything that I tied into this space is all from the mood board. I wanted to incoporate different colors and textures.  Before my space was very white and simple but also had no definition.
I love the way this simple DIY came out. I actually feel like I can do more. I hope you enjoyed it and send me pictures If you decide to spice up your ikea kallax.

How To Organize Your Accessories | Shades, Jewelry

Friday, August 17, 2018

It's the little things that make organizing so fufilling. Like taking a small tray and adding sunglasses! It's simple and you can see all your wonderful shades on display. If there is a way to add organization with asthetics I'm all for it. I found this small tray at target in the bathroom section. It actually came as a set with small bins on top of it. But I separted them and just used the tray.

Having my items on display helps me keep things at a miniumum, and only keep the things I need and love. There is nothing wrong with having more, but the question is do I need more.

It goes to show you can take anything and turn it into an organization piece. Now for my jewlwery I think Ive talked about this before, but its a cute box system from the container store. Its heavy duty and acrylic. You can also add different levels or compartments to it. I'm fine with just my simple organizer/jewlery holder. (for now) I can't stay away from the container store.

Turning 26 | I'm Not Sure What I Want In Life

Tuesday, July 31, 2018

This is the first time in my life that I can honestly say I don't know what I want. I am always the type of person to write down all of my goals and over time acomplish them. That's my motto, set a goal and achieve it. When I decided to get braces, when I decided I wanted a certain career with a certain job title. Those are all things I had planned for so long.

Usually around my birthday I have a lit of goals I'm working on and I don't have one. It seems like I'm just stuck. I'm not exactly set on what I want in life. It's crazy to think I'm turning 26, to some that might not be a big deal, but to me it is.

I am very happy and excited for my birthday but not like years in the past. This just feels different like another day is going to happen. Is that how it feels when you get older. I hope not because this is just such a weird thing for me.

I've tried multiple times of reading different books and trying to sit down and create a goal list but nothing comes to mind. I may think of a few and then 5 minutes later throw the paper out.

So with all that being said. I don't know what I want in life right now. There's nothing that is making  me excited or happy. On top of all of that, I don't know what I want to do about blogging.

Blogging to me was always a fun hobby I did on the weekends. Finding fun reciepes and doing simple lifestyle post made me so happy and fulfilled. But as of now I'm just not satisfied with my content or blogging in general. I love it don't get me wrong. I just don't know what to write about or what people are interested in and It's just a constant battle with what do I want to do.

If anyone is going through the same thing, maybe you have some tips on feeling revived again. For now I will just be taking a break and trying to figure out what it is that I want. Then maybe that will get some creative juices flowing.

How To Store Shoes In Your Closet | DIY Ikea Shelf

Sunday, July 29, 2018

Surprisingly I've never been the one to put my shoes on dispay. They were always at the bottom of my closet wither on a small shelf or in shoe bins. After displaying then and sorting through the shoes I wear and don't wear, I'm really glad I can open my closet and see them all in my face.

This makes getting dressed faster and It lets me know what shoes I have. Now if I decide to go shopping I know what shoes I want and may need. I even have two pairs of shoes I have yet to wear, because I bought them and put them in a shoe box.

I decided to spray paint this ikea shelf with a matte black spray paint. It originally comes in silver.
