My Everyday Basic Makeup Favorites

Friday, September 21, 2018

Yay! Hello There, Welcome back to the blog. Todays post is all about my everyday basic makeup that I have been using and loving. If I could be a makeup guru, and be good at it for one day, I probably would! I love and can spend time on Youtube watching girls do makeup but when It comes to me personally, I’m just am not interested.

Fun fact I started wearing makeup in like Highschool when one of my friends wore it and told me I should (laughs) I loved wearing it, I thought I was just so cool. Let me know when did you start wearing makeup? Also, do most girls start in Highschool or was I late? Okay back to the post.

When I go out, or to work or any event. I want to have the most minimal makeup on. Not because I don’t like makeup, but mostly because I don’t want to deal with the maintenance.  I don’t want to have to constantly check my face or apply anything, unless its lip moisturizer! I want to enjoy whatever it is that I’m doing.  I have a few products that I use all the time and they work Great!

Something For The Face

The first everyday product I use is this MAYBELLINE Matte + Poreless Fit Me Powder! When I’m talking about everyday makeup, I don’t want to use any creams or foundations. They can all be so heavy and I just want something that gives me a light coat and still looks natural. Not all powders work well, ive tried a few. But this particular one goes on smooth and adds a nice finish.
I like to apply a little of this using a medium buffing brush. It gives me the perfect amount of coverage and doesn’t leave me oily or dry. It adds a nice, natural fresh look. I use the color 360 Mocha. Always remember the key to having a great application of just powder is having healthy skin underneath, and exfoliating to get rid of dead skin.

Something For The Eyes

The next product is also a MAYBELLINE product. The Big Shot Mascara. Makeup Shayla on youtube actually put me on to this mascara. I actually watched her use it in a tutorial and thought to myself, I want to try that.
Having long eyelashes really helps me look awake in the mornings on my way to work and just looks so pretty. I love long eyelashes. But I wouldn’t dare get extensions (that just scares me). This mascara does a great job adding volume and length to my lashes. I feel so naked and not awake if I don’t have it on. Let me know if you are the same.

Something For The Eyebrows

I then move on to my eyebrows! I’m not to obsessed with my eyebrows, if they are defined and NOT super thin. I’m fine! I love thick eyebrows but I want them to look and feel as natural as possible and I would be fine without shading them in, but the darkness adds a nice contrast to my face.
This small eyebrow pencil brush from NYX Is easy to apply and Inexpensive. I use the brush on the back to comb through my brows and then slightly fill in my brows. It adds a nice definition to my face and I love dark eyebrows.

Something For The Lips

Having moisturized lips is the most important part! I cannot stand dry lips, that just looks painful and not good. Sometimes you can go out with a little rose water spray on your face and a hydrated lip and look somewhat put together. but having dry lips, no no no haha.
For my lips I like using a few things, whatever I have on hand to be honest but all of them work. I really enjoy the chap stick brand (cherry yumm) Its super east to grab and put on. You can even carry it in your pocket its so small and convenient and does the trick.
I also use EOS lip balm, the MAYBELLINE shine shot lip gloss is nice also. I recently tried this new lip water balm that came in my ipsy glam bag and its called “bkr paris’. It works so well! I just need to order a full size bottle, but it does wonders.

These are pretty much the only things I use on an everyday basis. Like I said before I don’t like doing much but I do like looking put together and nice. The most important part of makeup is your actual skin and how well you take care of it.
Definitely adding and enhancing the already beautiful parts of your face can add so much and makes you look awake, even if your not.

Falling Back In Love With Your Passion!

Monday, September 17, 2018

I think we all have ended up in a place where we don’t know what to do or what’s next for us. It may be a hobby, a relationship, a job, anything. You can love something and if you’re not tentative you can fall out of love with it.

I've always enjoyed writing, I love English class and always passed with A's. I wanted to be a journalist for the longest time and slowly over time I started to lose the spark of wanting to write.
I wasn’t interested, and I just didn’t like it and I started to get worried because this is something that I’ve always enjoyed and loved, and it was slipping away.

so, I took a break a few times ha-ha and after looking at old blog post and thinking of the reason why I started a blog in the first place, this inspiration came. and I wanted to write again, and I wanted to share things again and it started to feel natural.
That’s what I wanted! I wanted to love blogging because it is my hobby. I do it because I like sharing things with everyone and in person I’m much more of an introvert but when I’m sharing things with you all I’m an extrovert and I just love it.

Whenever your passion or love becomes a chore or a demand it becomes not fun anymore. you start to lose the reason you did it in the first place. so never let go of that. Never treat your passion like a job as the saying goes. (or something like that lol)

And if you are in a rut just know, it won’t be forever. eventually you will love what you do again. it just takes time. I mean when you stop working on something you must remember the skill all over again.

A Simple Ikea Hack | Mid Century Modern Kallax

Wednesday, August 29, 2018

I AM beyond excited at how this little DIY came out. I am currently in the process of creating the style I want in my space. Ive been pinning on pinterest like crazy trying to create the right inspiration. I love the mid century modern look. Its clean, simple, but also so much flare and excitement. This simple little DIY took maybe 15 minutes and adds a whole new look to my space.

FURNITURE LEGS

I found the small furniture legs on amazon of course. And I got a great deal on them because I had so many amazon rewards points. [see those things really do come in handy] I will link where I got these below. They had many ariations of mid century modern table legs. I just went for a more neutral wood tone but they also have a dark wood tone as well.

THE INSTALL

Start by attaching the metal square anchors into the shelf. Next you will be able to screw on the legs. Super simple and easy to install. When I first got these I thought oh no the screw attacheted to the leg was to long, but no worries. The more you keep srewing the leg in the screw actually gets shorter because it just screws back into the leg.

I'm going for a mid century modern meets palm springs meets Arizona feel in my space. If you follow me on instagram you may have seen my mood board in a recent picture.  I found these really awesome cactus prints online just by googling "cactus palm springs free picture" They're great quality and they printed so smooth and glossy.

Everything that I tied into this space is all from the mood board. I wanted to incoporate different colors and textures.  Before my space was very white and simple but also had no definition.
I love the way this simple DIY came out. I actually feel like I can do more. I hope you enjoyed it and send me pictures If you decide to spice up your ikea kallax.

How To Organize Your Accessories | Shades, Jewelry

Friday, August 17, 2018

It's the little things that make organizing so fufilling. Like taking a small tray and adding sunglasses! It's simple and you can see all your wonderful shades on display. If there is a way to add organization with asthetics I'm all for it. I found this small tray at target in the bathroom section. It actually came as a set with small bins on top of it. But I separted them and just used the tray.

Having my items on display helps me keep things at a miniumum, and only keep the things I need and love. There is nothing wrong with having more, but the question is do I need more.

It goes to show you can take anything and turn it into an organization piece. Now for my jewlwery I think Ive talked about this before, but its a cute box system from the container store. Its heavy duty and acrylic. You can also add different levels or compartments to it. I'm fine with just my simple organizer/jewlery holder. (for now) I can't stay away from the container store.
