Reusing Beauty Bags | Wall Decor

Saturday, May 6, 2017

Hey There Friends!
I know many of us probably have a lot of stored bags in our closet. I love to keep mine and reuse them around the house or to carry things. I decided to do a little DIY Today on the blog and show you how I made these super easy  beauty bags for wall decor. If you love Sephora and all things beauty like I do, then you know how fast you can rack up some of these bags. I still have a whole box filled (shhhhh) Dont judge me. They make really good bags for carrying small things and also lets admit it there so cute.

Bags
The first thing I needed was of course my small bags. The smaller the better in my opinion, they stay on the wall better and it's also better to use the sturdy Sephora bags they give you not the plastic thin ones.I used both in the picture just to show you the difference. Pink also has great bags. I have so many of them just from collecting overtime. Of course I had to choose the best looking ones though. I use these bags for tons of things. Holding my lunch, carrying things from the car (light products) I also use them for holding my change believe it or not and they work really well. I've never had a bag break on me (fingers crossed)

Hang
You can use thumb tacks to hang up the bags but the down side to that is they don't  hold the bag flush against the wall. I used these easy picture frame command hooks and put 2 on the back of the bag to make sure they stay.

Decorate
Then I added my favorite flowers. I picked up both sets of flowers at Joann's Fabrics but they also have so many flowers at Michael's Craft Store as well as the dollar store. but if you go to a craft store they definitely will have more of a selection for flowers and they last longer In my opinion.

You may need to cut the stems of your flowers to fit nicely in the bag. When your done you'll have this amazing wall decor that's perfect for the office or just your room. I even think it would be cute in a teenagers room.

Hope you enjoyed!

Until next time xoxo

Pineapple Watermelon Sparkling Lemonade

Thursday, May 4, 2017

Hey There! I have to admit, this is probably my favorite drink I've tried so far. I love festive drinks especially around the spring/summer time. They're perfect for family BBQ's, Lunches or Brunch (which is my favorite meal) I love everything about brunch!! It's heating up so quick here is Arizona and drinks are always a stable for us, and lets face it who doesn't love watermelon and pineapple!!! I actually saw this drink as an alcoholic beverage but since I'm not a drinker I thought why not find another way to make this a summer time drink for everyone.

I purchased everything from Trader Joe's, aside from the ice and cups of course. They have a really good produce section and I'm always pleased with their fruit and their prices. I started out with watermelon spears and pineapple spears. You can always buy a full watermelon or pineapple and cut it yourself, I just went the more simple route. I also picked up some limes for garnishing and it give the drink a nice flavor.

I Sliced and prepped all my fruit before I even started pouring the drinks. After I sliced the fruit I set it aside. You could also put it in the the freezer and let the fruit get a little hard before adding it to your drinks. Its like having mini fruit ice cubes.

I used two of my favorite drinks from Trader Joe's The Sparkling Lemonade and The Pineapple Juice. This lemonade is very light and refreshing but still is so delicious when it is chilled and poured over ice. I've brought this lemonade to a few work parties and everyone absolutely loved it. I also am obsessed with their pineapple juice. It takes exactly like freshly squeezed pineapple juice, NO LIE! I'm not a fan of canned anything so knowing it comes in a bottle makes me that much more excited to buy it and drink it, like everyday literally!

Next I poured in my ice (you only need a few pieces) I recommend letting the juice sit for 5 minutes or less with the the fruit before adding the ice. That way all the flavors can blend together. Then I added 1 cup of the sparkling lemonade and 1/2 cup of the pineapple juice. Just make sure you give it a little stir because the pineapple juice is heavier than the lemonade so it will settle to the bottom. Then I add in my fruit and give it one last stir before adding my lime garnish .

I put a few slices of the lime in the drink and also on the edge of the glass. The lime gives it a slight tart flavor that works well with the sweetness of the pineapple. The your ready to drink!! I hope you enjoyed this post and I hope you try this drink. Let me know what you think In the comments below.

How I Keep My Purses in Shape

Monday, February 13, 2017

Hey There,

Happy Monday Everyone!!!! Today I have a super easy and inexpensive DIY for you. I know sometimes when our purses are stacked in our closets they tend to get a little bent out of shape and worn down quicker. I just wanted to share with you my tip on keeping my bags in shape and not flat like a pancake.

So.. if you have purses that have a "softer" material, chances are you may have a hard time getting them to stand up and they can easily loose their shape and form. My First tip is to try and not stack your purses but line them up horizontally. It allows them to keep their shape and not be flat or deformed.

My second tip is creating a purse insert using a zip lock bag and newspaper. What I like to do is create a bag inside of the bag. You can use old magazines, old newspapers, or just paper. I crumble the paper up and place it into a gallon size ziplock bag (ruffly the size of my purse).

Then I close it up and place it inside my purse before I store it in my closet and [Walahhhhhhh] You have yourself a nice shaped bag. You may have to press on the zip lock bag to create the shape you want for your purse. I've had to use 2 of the ziplock bags to fill larger purses but for a normal size purse 1 should do the trick. You can also do this with a small handheld bag using a sandwich size ziplock bag. I hope this helps and let me know in the comments below if you used this and how it worked.

DIY Peppermint Lip Scrub

Monday, December 26, 2016

Hello There! I know winter time is here and during the winter we tend to be a bit more dry. Our skin needs a little bit more care. But don't worry, today I'm going to show you a simple recipe for peppermint lip scrub. I love using lip scrubs and I never thought to just make my own using the ingredients in my Kitchen. Its really a very simple process and the scrub lasts about a week or 2 depending on how long you want to keep it. This is a great idea for giving a gift or just as a treat for yourself.
What you will need is?

INGREDIENTS
1. Sugar (Raw)
2. Olive Oil or Coconut Oil (or any oil you like)
3. Peppermint Essential Oil
4. Vegetable Glycerine
5. Small Jars
6. Candy Canes (Optional)
7. Food Coloring (Optional)
8. Twine or Jar Labels

I found these really small jars at The Container Store and they come in many different sizes. They are great for DIY Projects or storing small goods.

First you want to gather all of your ingredients and mix them in a small bowl together.

For the next step you are going to finely crush up your candy cane

For an added bonus you can add some pretty food coloring, of any color you like to spice up your scrub.

Now Pack them up and enjoy! I hope you enjoyed this easy fun DIY. It will have your house smelling like peppermint (which is a great thing)
ps. Thank you to my wonderful niece for helping me with this DIY

Until Next Time XOXO

DIY Book of Quotes and Inspiration

Wednesday, December 14, 2016

I know we all love giving gifts and receiving them, and during this time of year I know a lot of people love giving gifts. In all reality you don't have to go to the store and max out your credit card giving people gifts. Gifts from the heart are definitely my favorite. Creating something with your hands and really knowing the person you are giving the gift to is much more thoughtful and heartwarming. I have a gift idea for you today that I hope you love.

I created a "quotes book" filled with inspirational quotes that I feel the person would love or quotes that have helped me in my life. These quotes can be religious or just quotes you live by or quotes from your favorite author or your own quotes.

I found this gift to be so caring and thoughtful to have a personalized notebook filled with love and a true connection to your loved ones. What I love most able this gift idea is you can personalize the saying to fit the persons lifestyle. If you know someone who is struggling with a personal issue or someone who wants to give up on a dream. You can fill their notebook with individual personalized quotes. Just talking about it makes me so happy! I really hope you give someone a special sentimental gift from the heart this year, because you never know who may need it. Always remember a gift doesn't always have to be bought sometimes gifts from the heart are the best gift.

Movie Night Anyone? [Easy DIY Movie Banner]

Sunday, August 7, 2016

Hey there? I know I know I've been in hibernation for a while,  Is it just me or are movie nights the best thing ever created. I'm not always a fan of going out to the movie theaters, sometimes I enjoy being a homebody with a couple of good chick flicks. My favorite movie of all time is the Devil Wears Prada. Ahhh Meryl Shreep is such an amazing actress. What are some of your favorite chick flicks? Okay Okay enough chit chat, I have a cute DIY to spice up your movie night decor. Because, what is movie night without decorations, fun snacks, and amazing company :)

For the Movie Banner, I used a few materials that you can find at your local  craft store or around the house.

Everything You Will Need

1. Rope or String (just something that you can use to look through)
2. Go online and print out a pattern you like. I chose the red and white stripes theme.
3. Go on Microsoft Word and create a shape them type your words in them. I spelled out Movie Night. You can always buy store bought letters also
4. Glue Stick or Regular Glue or Tape

Start out by...
Cutting out your letters (and your paper if need) Glue your letters in place and then begin to glue. After hole punch the top to thread the string through the top.

Loop the string through both holes and your done, Simple right :)

Now onto the snacks, Choose your favorite snacks and bag them up for your friends!!!

Enjoy

XOXO

[Tumblr Inspired] Inspiration Wall

Tuesday, March 24, 2015

Hello Sunshines!
I've slowly but surely been working on my room (desk area especially) I decided to go ahead and continue my inspiration wall that I started a year ago but never finished...ooops! This time around I wanted to use actual pictures from Tumblr instead of cut out magazines like before. It just adds a more clean look to the wall, in my opinion.  I love Tumblr!! So I went on there and went to work saving some of my favorite photos. Along the way I added a few of my own photos to the wall that I took myself:) [shameless plug] I've seen so many ideas of inspiration walls, I wanted my own.  Waking up to inspiring words or pictures really help me start my day off in a positive way. Some of the pictures are just photos I like, or either places I want to travel to. The number one place I want to travel to is LONDON! The Beautiful UK, One day! so I keep a reminder on my wall everyday.

One of my main concerns about creating my inspiration wall was the quality of the photos, so I went out and bought a jumbo pack of high gloss photo paper. I currently think I'm obsessed with photo paper, I just love it. The look, the feel how it makes my photos look in my room! ahhhh, I don't think I'll ever print photos on regular paper again... To hang up my pictures at first I was going to use command stripes, but they come pretty expensive if your planing on buying a lot like I was. Instead I went the cheaper route and used simple clear packing tape and a little gift wrapping tape for the small corners, as so far it holds up nicely.

There are so many ways you can spice up your inspiration wall. You can take some of your Instagram photos and print them out. You can frame some of the pictures to add a little dimension to the wall. Another idea is to just create a random collage with real photos, magazine photos, cutouts of newspapers, life achievements etc.  I love my wall, I find myself waking up and just staring at it. I hope this inspires some of you to go out and create your own inspiration wall.

until next time xoxo
